ABSTRACTS Extended the deadline for submission of scientific abstracts by April 30th 2012

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we kindly invite you to participate in the 34th Brazilian Epilepsy Congress, to be held in Ribeirão Preto on June 6th-9th 2012. The Brazilian Epilepsy League (LBE) promotes the congress, which for many years has been an important chance of scientific recycling for professional and college students working in the epilepsy area.

To attend to everyone’s needs, we have decided to prepare a program around central epilepsy themes, including: Basic Mechanisms, Epileptology, Electroencephalography, Pharmacology, Genetics, Neuroimaging, Epilepsy Surgery and

Psychosocial Aspects. Renowned Brazilian and internal speakers have been invited to address these themes. Besides the pre-congress courses and symposia, conferences, roundtables and meetings, we will emphasize poster and oral presentations and studies running for the LBE awards. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to prepare your abstracts and studies for submission in the next few months. To enrich our activities, the Annual Meeting of the Brazilian Clinical

Neurophysiology Society (SBNC) will also take place.

Finally, the city of Ribeirão Preto plays an important role in Brazilian and international scientific activities and, in our specific case, in Epileptology. In addition, the city is rich in historical, artistic and cultural attractions, besides a strong economy.

Congress activities will take place at the Ribeirão Preto Convention Center, located in the city center and with easy access to different hotels.

With its good infrastructure, we hope the city will offer you, our guests, plenty of opportunities for a pleasant stay.
